A Rather Charming, Curious, Lovely and Remarkable Series
by CA Belmond
When you find an author you like, don’t you usually go back to read everything they’ve written? Such will be the case with reading C.A. Belmond. She has the ability to weave a story and develop characters who are charming, delightful and intriguing. Belmond writes a simply lovely story.
The Rather Series – Books 1 - 3
The ‘Rather Series’ starts off with A Rather Lovely Inheritance where American, Penny Nichols discovers she is to inherit a fortune from her dearly departed British great-aunt after whom she is named. After arriving in London for the reading of the will, she re-meets her cousin, Jeremy (as we discover, actually not blood related) with whom she develops a romance. But that is not all. The fun begins with the initial discovery that Penny has inherited a villa in France and a vintage car. The second discovery is that her great-aunt lived a double life with secrets at every turn. Chasing down clues and solving the mysteries with Penny and Jeremy keeps this well-paced story a delight to return to.
You will want to read book two, A Rather Curious Engagement and then onto the third in the series, A Rather Charming Invitation. You will want to continue becoming best friends with this dynamic duo as you vicariously share in their escapades. The sequels do not disappoint!
Today the Fourth in the Series is Released
The fourth in the ‘Rather Series’, A Rather Remarkable Homecoming finds Penny and Jeremy back in London, France and Italy and have settle back in London. No sooner have they unpacked their bags when a friend of Prince Charles begs their help in saving the Cornish summer home and village in which Penny and Jeremy had first met as children. Shipwrecks, long lost loves and Celtic folk lore abound in this engaging story.

C.A. Belmond is a delightful novelist with some pretty nice awards to her name. She received the Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship and was a Pushcart Press Editor’s Book Award finalist on two separate occasions. Besides teaching writing at New York University, she has also written, produced and directed drama and documentaries for television and cable. This talented lady has stepped out on her own to pen her own novels. As it turns out, they are ‘rather’ fabulous.

These look like such fun, I will list them on my site too. I’m going to settle in a chair under a tree at lunch and start the first one. Thank you, a new author is always the best gift!
I just love this series….am half way through the newest installment!
Thanks for the recommendation.
