23 Feb The New Rage in Winter Sports (especially for those who hate the cold!)
BADMINTON - The Classic Sport
Are you looking for a great winter sport, a super workout and a way to meet new friends?
WHAT: Badminton, the newest old Sport out there
WHERE: Badminton Clubs have long been established all over the world, but they have been gaining steadily in popularity.
WHY? Great exercise for all ages and levels of fitness, its social and fun.
HISTORY: Brought to England in the late 18th century. The Brits developed rules for the game and the rest is history.
LEVEL OF PLAY: Backyard fun all the way up to the Olympics. Choose your goal.
Do you really need another pair of sneaker?
Maybe not.
If you have sneakers that are:
- Cushioned (you’ll be playing indoors on a hard surface)
- Non-black soles (you don’t want to leave skid marks on the court)
- Grip (gives good control on the court surface)
Then you are all set. For all others, click here

Where To Play – How To Play – What To Wear
BADMINTON LESSON
Badminton, a backyard sport? I don’t think so.
Before you think we are totally off of our game… check out the guys from American Chopper demonstrating how the game is really played today… at MIT.
Don’t let the motorcycles fool you. These guys are culture warriors at heart.

Really??? I used to love playing badminton as a kid! I would probably really like to start playing it again! I haven’t heard much about it in a long time!
I thought you were going to say something about eating french fries and sipping cocoa by the crackling fireplace, all decked out in fur and mukluks. Hmm. I’m going to need to think about this new winter sport.
